John S. Thalgott, M.D.
Dr. Thalgott is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who earned his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his residency at Barnes Hospital (St. Louis, MO) and the Los Angeles County Hospital. He is fellowship-trained in trauma and deformity spinal surgery and today focuses mostly on non-trauma cases in the lumbar and cervical spine.
In 1986 Dr. Thalgott founded the International Spinal Development & Research Foundation (ISD&RF), a non-profit research organization that focuses on the development of surgical techniques and trials to monitor new devices and technology. Although his approach to patient care is conservative, he is dedicated to staying on the cutting edge of technology and techniques.
Over the past several years Dr. Thalgott has been invited to speak on his research in many forums including the North American Spine Society; American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons; American Spinal Injury Association; Cervical Spine Research Society; International Intradiscal Therapy Society; Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine & Peripheral Nerves; American Spinal Injury Association; Scoliosis Research Society, and International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine.
